What is Judo



Judo can be fun sport, a discipline, a social activity, a self-defence, and a way of life.

People practice Judo to take part in competitions, to stay in shape and to develop self-confidence
As in all sports, Judo has a strict set of rules that ensures safety. Judo offers competition at all skill levels, from club level Olympic Games.

Judo is best known for it's spectacular techniques but also involves considerable grappling on the ground control holds and arm locks, Judo is taught on special mats for safety.

The founder of Judo was Dr.Kano.Jigoro of Japan ( above).

Once you are a Green belt you have to demonstrate Kata a formal part of judo mixing technique with self-defence. Kata is done standing and on the ground and shows 30 techniques.
